Roller Skating Champions

This sport is now dominated by the Italian skaters.  There are occassionally portugese skaters that take metals in the world championship, For example, of the last 17 senior mens events in the world championship, 16 gold medals were to an Italian skater.  The senior womens even is even more dominated with 17 of the last 17 gold medals being awared to Italy.  Five years saw a sweep of medals go to the Italian team.

In the early 80's, the US was the dominate country, but that lead is long gone.  In the last 17 years, an american has only placed once and that was a second place in 2003 to Heather Mukley.  Her winning routine can be found in the following list.  No American man has placed in worlds in decades, and the only other American placement was in seniro pairs and seniro dance.  The Pairs team of Heather Menard and Kyle Turley placed 2nd in 2009 and 3rd in 2010.  They also competed in seniro dance and landed on the podium in 2006-2011.  The dance team of Logan Boggs and Julie Locke also medaled in 2005 and 2006.
